Guess Who I'm Voting For?

Thanks Larry. Vote Liberal, please. Hold your nose while you do it, even if you think the Grits are a pale shadow of their past, maybe there are no Trudeaus and Pearsons. But remember every vote for the left of Liberal parties, means not only one vote less for the Liberals, byut vote in favor of the Conservatives. Stink as the Liberals can, the stench of the Conservatives is something else. Being Asian Indian I happen to know how the Conservatives are trying to split the vote in my community by pitting young vs. old. This is how Conservatives have been getting elected in ridings like Mississauga. Elect the Liberals and then pressurise them to toe the people's line.

I always vote for Liberal. Even back when Paul Martin was PM, I didn't see any issue with the scandal Chretien left him with.

Tell me, which political party has
absolutely clean hands?

None.

Even the Green Party, what with their liberal 'hippie' type approach to politics, would have some type of scandal if they were to (miraculously...hate the word, but for a lack of a better one) become the country's leading party.

Please explain what you mean whjen you say that every vote for the left of Liberal parties, means not only one vote less for the Liberals, but a vote in favor of the Conservatives.

But Larry: surely you want to vote Green for their innovative health-care initiatives?

Good choice. If I lived in your riding, I would vote for Omar Alghabra.

However, yesterday at an all candidates debate, the Liberal candidate 9female)discussed the Liberal Women's Caucus and the Pink book. Despite this Liberal candidate's assertion that the Liberal Party is more pro-women than the Conservative Party, the women in the Liberal Party feel they need to band together to form a separate caucus and create a Pink Book to accompany the Liberal Red Book.

Veronica,

What I mean is that voting Green rather than Grit will split the liberal (I mean small L not caps) vote. In the interests of the future, it is best Greens, NDPs and PQ/BQ ally with or even merge with the Grits. That way the Blues will never make it to power. Through the long years of Liberal unity, the conservatives tossed around rudderless. Once the liberal coalition started cracking up due to a retiring Paul Chretien, and an inept Paul Martin, the conservatives started coming together and finally forming a party giving us the unbearable Harper. BQ/PQ restivness is in part due to a fear that a conservative Canada will become anchored in the resource rich west, and begin dismantling your excellent welfare state, and even slide into US style religious crackpottery.

Centrist liberals will not turn Blue, they will stay Red. It's the green libs who have a problem voting for a centrist grit, and indirectly help elect conservatives in places like Mississauga.

Why would you vote for a Liberal. These are the same people that insist on propagating the very economic system that proliferates religion. Just look to America.

Capitalism has not diminished fascism, it encourages it. What are conservatives other then the seedlings of fascism.

you think holding the line is going to stop the inevitable? Everything the Liberal;s have done in Canada up to this point has lead directly to the very society we have.

Think of society as a 100+ year science experiment.

What are the conclusions?

Since I really, really like the Canadian society we have now I guess that's a good reason to vote Liberal.
